Gonorrhaea

The infection transmitted sexually by the bacterium Neisseria Gonorrhoeae is known by the name Gonorrhaea. It is generally spread via sexual contact with an infected individual. This would take into consideration anal, oral and vaginal sex as well. It could also spread from a mother to her baby during birth.

Symptoms

• Greater frequency or urgency of urination
• A pus-like discharge (or drip) from the penis (white, yellow, beige, or greenish)
• Swelling or redness at the opening of the penis
• Swelling or pain in the testicles
• A persistent sore throat
• Discharge from the vagina (watery, creamy, or slightly green)
• Pain or burning sensation while urinating
• The need to urinate more frequently
• Heavier periods or spotting
• Sore throat
• Pain upon engaging in sexual intercourse
• Sharp pain in the lower abdomen
• Fever

Treatment

There are no domestic remedies. Seeking help from a healthcare professional is mandatory. Use of condoms during intercourse should be made a practice.
